I wish I may...

So it's been a bit since I've journaled, and once again I'm back! After a lapse of wedding planning, I'm about to start once again, but at a much more specialized speed instead of the breakneck one i'd been traveling! To update our lives, for the moment I am still employed at Big 5 and Girl Scouts, loving Big 5 a lot more than the latter, but it's providing my phone bills!! So I can't complain! :) I much more enjoy working with a lot of people having a specified area of work with endless possibilities if I happen to get bored. Big 5 is also amazing, and allows us to munch on Reese's Pieces M'n'm's and chew gum! How amazing is that!? For those of you who don't know what a "Big 5" is, it's a sporting goods store that happens to look like Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Joey is now working at an awesome store in our local mall: Merlo's Cutlery. He has a rockin' time sword-fighting with himself and trying to become a Cold Steel champion. Although his current reachable dream is to find a full-time city job, he's gotten as far as the applying, city test, and passing grade, so he's hoping now to be in the top minority for an interview. Pray for that one! If you're not sure what a cold steel champion is, you might want to check out their website: www.coldsteel.com. It's awesome because he can even do his homework there if he wanted...except he's only working this semester and not going to school. :)This is almost exactly what his job looks like: Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket We're still up in the air on the date...and completely enjoying the engagement! It really is a lovely time...learning more about each other spiritually and encouraging each other every day. God is good! We couldn't be happier...unless we were married ;)!! Basically what it comes down to is, waiting on God's perfect timing which includes good, reliable jobs for both of us that will help support our life and our goals. We are so excited, yet perfectly content to wait on God and what he desires for us. We just learned those lessons these past few months. Jumping ahead isn't always the best, but amazingly it's all turned out okay as we continue to learn and grow together. Join us! We'd love to have you along on this awesome journey (except I must say that you'll have to stay behind on the honeymoon...sorry!:)

There's Something There That Wasn't There Before

Yes, there is! There happens to be a pile of things in boxes next to my bed. Now where did that come from!? Well accumulation of said items seems to have been a gradual process, accompanied by depletion of the bank account. What could be the correlation?? :)
It is true...As of now, next to my bed there happens to be: a dishes stoneware se
t (white with two blue lines rimming the edges) bought from a yardsale and in perfect condition!; 2 candle holders; a turquoise chocolate candle; one of those mini lamp candle-holders with a gold-beaded shade; a few stems of pretty fake flowers and floral tape for flower pens; 4 boxes of invitations...annnnd 6 pretty turquoise votives from Michael's!
What can I say?... I know!

"That's only the beginning!!" :)

How's that for early planning?
Next Stop:

Today, after my morning wake-up, I headed back to the library to return my books. A LOT of books. I have a disorder that requires me to walk out of each library I walk into, with an unreasonably large stack of books. They usually obscure my vision, and everything (or person!:) in front of me. It's horrible. But, like I said, it's a disorder. Completely unsolveable.

So today after my library run, AMAZINGLY I did not return with a humongous stack of books, but with a small pile of magazines. Bought from the library for FIVE cents apiece. I plan on ripping out pages (and the librarian won't scream at me, since they are MINE all MINE!!!!!!) and elaborately sticking them to pages of a recently acquired sketchbook.

My magazines today will supply me with endless amounts of honeymoon dream destinations...but in case you have ANY magazines to contribute, never fear. I can never have enough of those magazines and clipping!!! :')
So that is all, as I must face the reality of work. :') The work that i will
be late for if I don't stop this addicting blogging!! :')

I have never loved books so much! (hint of sarcasm:)

Today was "buy your college text books online" day. Practically an official holiday! This day causes stress for me (and every other semi-perfectionist college student) every semester for a variety of reasons, but it was rather awesome today! Usually, I frantically log onto my computer the minute they put the college textbooks up for sale on their bookstore website...then I grab the ISBN number and quickly head over to Half.com to see if any of the books are there for incredibly wonderful deals. (by the way i sold THREE there this week!! Hooray!) So that's what I did today...unfortunately the book i was looking for wasn't on half.com since it's new. So i found 3 other textbook sites WITH FREE SHIPPING to send it to me more than $10 cheaper. I'm such a sucker for good deals, it's pathetic. Truly pathetic. But in this case it worked out amazingly for the better! I can't recommend a better textbook site than half.com! :'D

On the other end of "deals," Michael's is having a crazy insane clearance sale. 70% off all their clearance prices~! Who can pass that up? not me! :) Anywhoo, I managed to snag a few things and I need help figuring out what exactly to do with them! Haha. I know I'll use them...it's just...How?

1.Tag cards. About 3 1/2-4 inches across and 5-6 inches tall and they open in the middle! Thinking... Invitations! Somewhat like this, except without the adorable baby! They're cream colored and we're thinking of a "water" theme. How to make these cute?

2. Baby Blue half pillar candles. 10 of them. They were 15 cents!!!!!!! They are lily of the valley scent and i want to make them pretty and figure out a very important job for them...but what?

3. I got 4 dark blue pillar candles and a bunch of blue and clear beads. I'm thinking of stringing the beads on twine at the bottom and making a decoration to string across the room...sort of like this.

here are a few more of my brainstorms...

Preparing for Forever...Starting with The Dust Bunnies

Hello Everybody! I am quite new to the entire blogging scene, but i'm raring and ready to go at it. Although it does open you up to anybody and everybody...those details will be out soon enough, and the more the merrier I say! Stick with me on my journey as I prepare to marry Joey, AKA My Hombrecito (little man). :)

Where do you begin when you start planning for forever? I don't know about you, but the way I had planned "planning for my wedding" in my head, isn't how it's happened at all! But i'm quite happy about that, after all, what fun would it be if you knew how to do everything already? Too easy! (but i really could use some more of that easyness :) What's a girl to do when she has no idea where to begin?

It started with crying my eyes out into my pillow and eating chocolate. That's usually the way we girls solve life's most important problems (and really huge exciting events!). :) Then, I realized that the entire "planning your own wedding" idea wasn't as huge as I made it out to be, it was simply media. Ha! And media does not fool me! I backtracked and found my Bible and read some really awesome stories of courage and resilence in the face of some really daunting things, and realizing that everything isn't in my control, but in God's, really made me cheerful. Goodness! A wedding isn't supposed to be SAD!!!! But as emotions go, we girls are blessed with extra (are we ever!) and its still quite difficult for me to learn to trust sometimes. So I'll put that on my to-do list.

To Do:

#1. Learn to trust and drink large cups of tea, all the while watching Gilmore Girl re-runs.

With that aside, Joey and I are on the freeway to one of the most exciting and crazy times of our lives! We are super excited and so glad that you are coming along for the ride! Engagement pictures should be taken this week sometime, so I'll stick those up when we get them! I can't wait! I've been saving up billions and billions of poses for us to do. Poor Joey! And poor poor photographer! What  an amazing life this is!
